`99 - 6th Annual meeting - Helsingborg's AGM held at
Olssons restaurant:

17 April `99 - Good opener
- Helsingborg worrying if they are going to win a game this season,
open up with a win in the first game of the season against Århus
Bombers at Brohult IP. Score: 12,17 to 7,19. Thomas Bergkvist, Luke
Daffey and Paul Scerri all kick 3 goals each. Helsingborg next win would
come after the summer break in round 11, July 31.
15 May `99 - Nearly no score
- Helsingborg look like the first team not to score at all in a DAFL
game. As North Copenhagen play 15 against 12 at Stefan BK. The Saints
are held scoreless in the first three quarters before Andreas Hoff and
Samuel von Post score majors in the last quarter. The score 19,32 to
2,1.
27 May `99 - Forfeit -
At Thursday training at Brohult IP, Helsingborg decides to forfeit their
away game to Århus because of lack of players. Helsingborg are
forced to play their home game against the Bombers next year away.
Early June `99 - Orange and green
- Fred Sajjadi suggestion to the new Denmark/Sweden Vikings jumper is
one that is orange with a green sash and orange stars. The colours of
his native Iran.
26 June `99- Vikings win again
- Denmark/Sweden beat Great Britain in London easily. Helsingborg represents
are Andreas Svensson, Fredrik Hjälmarsson and Fred Sajjadi. The
team still play in the red and the white.
Early July `99 - Aulin's back -
Joacim Aulin takes over the coaching from Andreas Svensson, his goal
is to win three of the last four games.
24 - 25 July - Doktors Cup
- A change to the Doktors Cup that it is played in a round-robin lightning
series over two days with the top 4 teams playing in a final series.
The cup is played at Stefans BK, Copenhagen. Helsingborg finish third
losing the 1st Semi-Final to Aalborg. On the first day the Saints defeat
Nth.Copenhagen by 4 points, lose to Farum by 4 points, defeat Copenhagen
by 19 points. The second day with leading goal kicker Kim Nielsen missing
Helsingborg lose to eventual winners Amager by 41 points, defeat Aalborg
by 2 points with Elias Assaf single handily breaking from the pack to
kick the last two winning goals. The team coached by Joacim Aulin day
1 and Luke Daffey day 2 were: Elias Assaf, Dario Donelli, Daniel Enemar,
Christer Hjelm, Hans Hervén, Ricky Kinloch-Rollins, Ingmar Lundquist,
Kim Nielsen, Paul Rämö, Fred Sajjadi, Andreas Svensson and
Mark White.
31 July `99 - Saints skin Tigers
- Despite being down 21 points at quarter time against woodenspooners
Amager, Helsingborg win easily 8,6 to 17,12 at Amager. Thomas Bergkvist
kicks four goals.
14 August `99 - Upset of the season
- After being thrashed by Aalborg the week before, Helsingborg comeback
to beat top team Farum who had at this stage only lost one game. They
win by the most slender of margins - 1 point. Score 10,11 (71) to 9,16
(70) at Brohult IP. Hans Hervén kicks 5 goals.
21 August `99 - Thunder and lightning
- In the last game of the season a thunder shower nearly calls the game
off. Copenhagen wary of the Saints good win the previous week request
to call the game a draw. Coaching for the day Ricky Kinloch-Rollins
will have none of it and the game goes ahead. Copenhagen do it easy
in the wet 13,7 to 5,8. Helsingborg finish 6th for the season winning
3 games and losing 9. Amager collect the wooden spoon.
28 August 1999 - DAFL B&F
- DAFL Best and Fairest is held at the clubrooms in Farum. Aalborg's
Duncan Milward wins the medal with his team-mate Palle Finsson coming
second. Andreas Svensson finishes equal fourth. Henrik Norén
is chosen the scholarship program to play for Powerhouse in Melbourne
the year 2000. Helsingborg vote getters: 24-Andreas Svensson, 20-Luke
Daffey, 10-Paul Rämö, 8-Paul Scerri, 5-Fred Sajjadi, 4-Andrew
Close, 3-Andreas Hoff, Henrik Norén, 2-Thomas Bergkvist, Dario
Donelli, Hans Hervén, Reini Masarek, Mark White, 1-Elias Assaf,
Antony Dunn.
11 September - Curtain Raiser
- Andreas Svensson, Henrik Norén and Chris Marteby are among
the DAFL All-Stars defeating the Wimbledon Hawks for the curtain-raiser
for the GF won by Copenhagen over North Copenhagen. One of the GF goal
umpires is Andreas Svensson
Late `99 - Saints B&F
- Held at Zoo Bar. A crowded and noisy night was held by Christer Hjelm
saw Andreas Svensson win easily the B&F award with Luke Daffey coming
second and Paul Rämö third. The results:
